A journal is any content that board or committees i.e. publish and distribute to members. They can publish periodic journals to share important updates and news, when required. You can organize your list of journals in journal groups, for easy reference.
Click on Journal in the sidebar.
The list of journals appears if someone have added to this account.
Click on Add to add a new journal.
The journal form appears where you can add the details. The form has three sections—Details, Content, and Submit Actions.
Details
Add the following details for the new journal.
Date: Click on the date icon to see the calendar. Select a date and this date serves as the publishing date of this journal.
Journal Group: Select a group for this new journal. Groups help you group and organize journals for different use cases such as their purpose, or audience. (Please see Journal groups for more details.)
Group Code: Select the group code for this journal.
Note that when you select a group code, the journal is automatically saved for your future reference. While working on the journal details, the system alerts you to select a group code to save it automatically.
Content
In the content section, add the journal title, its description, and attach any images or documents, if required.
Title: Write the title of the new journal.
Image: Select an image as part of this new journal and will appear in the Activity feed, as the content thumbnail and header image in detail view. Browse the image and upload it. (Please see Insert Images section in Common tasks for more details on adding images.)
Documents: Select a document to attach with this journal.
Note: The documents are available depending on the group code that you select for this journal, in the Details section. If you have not selected any group code, the document dropdown list is not available to you.
You can upload a new document from your own computer, or from the 2Way server. Click on Add Document to see the document upload options. (Please see Attach documents section in Common tasks for more details on adding documents.)
Description: Write the content of the journal. Use the text editor to format the text such as to add paragraph styles, lists, to insert tables or images in the text, or symbols, and so on. (Please see Using text editor in Common tasks for more details on adding documents.)
Submit actions and notification settings
Set the journal publishing notification settings, as required.
Send Notification
In Send Notification, the No option is selected by default.
Select Yes to notify the users when this journal is active and is available to them. When you select Yes, the settings appear as below.
Send later: Select Send later box to send this notification at a later date and time. Set the later date and time for this notification, in the Date and Time fields, respectively.
Notification Type: Select an option for:
- Normal with sound: Select this option for a normal notification with sound.
- Normal without sound: Select this option for a normal notification without a sound.
- Badge count only: Select this option to show only the notification count in the app notification icon. There are no screen notifications in this case. Please note that this option is available on iOS only.
In Message, write the message that the app users see with the journal notification. As you start writing the message, the word count limit shows there.
Hide from activity feed
You have an option of whether to show the journal in the users' activity feed.
- Select Yes to hide it in their activity feed.
- Select No to show it in their activity feed.
Save the journal
Click on Save button to save the journal.
Click on Reset button to discard the journal details.
Submit the journal
As you save this new journal, you need to submit it for approval.
There are two ways to submit this journal.
Option 1: In the journals' list
In the list, the journal status is Update pending.
In the Action column, click on Submit. The status changes to Active.
Option 2: In the journal's details
Click anywhere in the journal's name row in the list. Its details open in a floating panel in the right side.
In Action dropdown, click Submit to submit it.
The status changes to Active. (Please see Journal status for more details.)
The journal status
The journal status can be:
- Draft: If the journal is auto-saved and is incomplete for the mandatory details. You cannot submit it before completing the required information.
- Active: If the journal is active.
- Inactive: If the journal is inactive.
- Update pending: When you save a new journal with all required information, and it is ready for submission.
