Overview
You can track updates to member data using and import members in bulk to the platform:
- Import Members: Contact 2Way to have your members imported using a provided XLS doc.
- View Member Update Activity: Track the history of profile updates made by members via the Profile module in app, admins/moderators via the Admin Dashboard, or via API from the member base.
- Export Logs: The Member Update Activity can be exported in a XLS format for detailed analysis.
NOTE on import: Most clients utilize API sync from their member base system, which automatically updates the Members module without manual imports. However, manual importing of members through an XLS file and adding members individually remains possible. This article will explain the bulk import.

1. Importing Members
To populate the Members module with member data, clients can contact 2Way to import members directly into the platform using an XLS document. This import method is an alternative to API syncing and manually adding members. The import ensures that a large number of members are added at once, and it is ideal for organizations migrating data or setting up their member base on the platform for the first time.
Minimum Fields Required
The following fields are mandatory for each member in the import file:
- Username: This must be unique for each member and will be used as their login ID in the app.
- First Name
- Last Name
- Personal Email: A unique email address for each member.
- Group: The group to which the member belongs. This helps in organizing members and managing access permissions.
Additional Fields
In addition to the minimum required fields, clients can include the following optional fields when importing:
- Date of Birth
- Position/Rank
- Hire Date
- Code
- Seniority Number
- Base
- Equipment (1 and 2)
- Contact Details: Work email, home phone, mobile phone, addresses (Street1, Street2, State/County, Postal/Zip code, City, Country)
These fields reflect the same fields available in the Members module and are explained in detail in the Adding a New Member section. Clients can decide which fields to include in their import file, depending on the data they have available.

2. Viewing Member Update Activity
You can view the history of changes to a member’s profile through the Members History feature. This allows admins and moderators to track updates made by the member in the app's profile module, by an admin or moderator in the Members module, or via sync from the member base system. The history includes details such as who made the change, the date and time, and the platform used (e.g., web or app), providing a clear audit trail for all member-related updates.
Accessing Member Update Activity
From the Members module, click on the Members History button located in the toolbar.
When you open the Members History page, you will see a table with the following columns:
- Username: The member’s unique username.
- Name: The member’s full name.
- Status: Shows whether the member is currently active or inactive.
- Last Changed On: The date and time of the latest update to the member’s profile.
- Last Changed By: Shows whether the change was made by the member themselves (Self) or an admin/moderator.
You can use the Search bar to quickly find a specific member and the Date Filter to narrow down the changes to a specific time range (e.g., Today, This Month, Last 7 Days).
Viewing Detailed Member Updates
Clicking on any member in the Members History table opens the User Change Details screen. This screen is divided into two panes:
- Details Pane: Shows the basic member details, such as:
- Username
- Email Personal
- Status
- Created On: Date the member was added to the system.
- Created By: Who created the member’s profile (could be an admin or via sync/import).
- Change History Pane: Displays a list of all changes made to the member’s profile, including:
- Field Name: The specific field that was updated.
- Old Value: The value of the field before the change.
- New Value: The updated value of the field.
- Changed On: Date and time the change was made.
- Changed By: Indicates who made the change (admin, moderator, or the member).
- Platform: Shows where the change was made, such as Web (via Admin Dashboard) or iOS/Android (via the app).
You can filter the Change History by date using the Date Filter (Today, Last 7 Days, This Month, etc.) and search through specific changes using the Search bar.
To export the update activity, go to Export Logs in Members module.
3. Exporting Logs
How to Export Logs
To export member logs, click on Export Logs at the top of the Members page. The export generates an XLS file containing the history of updates made to all member profiles, providing a downloadable record of changes.
Exported Data
The exported XLS file includes the following columns:
- Username: The member’s unique username.
- Name: Full name of the member.
- Date/Time Updated: Timestamp of when the profile was updated.
- Field Updated: The specific field that was changed (e.g., email, position).
- Field Update Value: The new value applied in the updated field.
- Updated by User: Indicates if the change was made by the member (Yes) or by an admin/moderator (No).
- Updated by: The email of the admin/moderator who made the update. This column is displayed only if the update was done by an admin/moderator.
The same data can also be viewed in Member History, where detailed activity and changes are available for individual members.
